Evaluating the Status Quo of Policies under the SHG Standard
Health policymakers work at both domestic and global levels. Current health policies contain numerous issues, but a coherent theory to appropriately evaluate them is missing. Shared Health Governance offers a framework and standard to assess current health policies, as well as suggesting a way to move forward. Thus far, SHG has analyzed the Poverty Reduction Strategies Paper process in Malawi, global obstetric fistula, and the COVID-19 pandemic. A proper assessment of the status quo is necessary for more effective governance; this is the first step for restructuring health systems.
