JOY PHUMAPHI: LEADER IN HUMAN DEVELOPMENT AT THE WORLD BANK
Joy Phumaphi was the 2007 Vice President for Human Development at the World Bank. She was a leader in the health sector, displaying a deep sense of duty to help developing economies, especially African countries, build their societies, and improve their populations’ health. Unlike some development policymakers, Phumaphi’s practical course and respect for technical training and skills have made her a promising advocate, strategist, and practitioner for human development.
